Well, when they're puppets being held by primary school kids, at least. This year our summer reading school visit skit involves having the kids hold animal puppets and my puppet asks them what they feed their babies. Usually we get typical stuff - bones for the dog, carrots for the rabbit, etc. But we've also had:
Cat - oranges
Mouse - apples, wires, rat food
Bunny - eggs (I get it, it's the Easter Bunny, but it was still cute)
And we always get the interesting questions
"Is it fun working at the library?" - I thought that was actually a super question and I was able to say that yes, yes it is!
"How many books are the library?" - Dang, I actually had the stats on that last year but couldn't remember. I just said tens of thousands.
Happily, school visits are over. Now it's just the deluge of sticker-wantin' kids for the next two months.
